In April 2009, Britney Spears declared her support for same-sex marriage to the media, following the controversial incident on Miss USA where contestant Carrie Prejean, representing California, expressed her disapproval of same-sex unions. The message left by Spears on her Twitter page read “Love is love! People should be able to do whatever makes them happy!” After years of absence, Forbes magazine listed Britney Spears as the 13th most powerful celebrity and the second most top-earning young musician as she made $35 million from June 2008 to June 2009.

Jessica Simpson

In December 2006, while performing a tribute to Dolly Parton at the Kennedy Center Awards, Jessica Simpson botched the lyrics, getting flustered in front of a crowd that included prominent persons such as Steven Spielberg, Shania Twain, and President George W. Bush. Though Jessica Simpson was given the chance to redo the song for cameras, her portion was edited out of the CBS broadcast.

Leonardo DiCaprio

1995 was an eventful year for Leonardo DiCaprio. That year he starred in four movies; in the first one, The Quick and the Dead, he played Gene Hackman's alleged son, Fee, starring alongside Sharon Stone and Russell Crowe.

Janet Jackson

In March 1969, the group signed a record deal with Motown, and by the end of the year they had recorded the first of four consecutive number one singles. Scarlett Johansson

In 1999, Scarlett Johansson made an appearance in the music video for Mandy Moore's single, "Candy". Although the film was not a box office success, she received praise for her breakout role in the 2001 film, Ghost World. Credited with "sensitivity and talent that belie her age", Johansson went on to win the Chlotrudis and Toronto Film Critics Association Awards for Best Supporting Actress and was nominated for the Online Film Critics Society Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 2002, Scarlett Johansson appeared in the comedy-horror thriller Eight Legged Freaks, starring David Arquette.

Eva Mendes

Eva Mendes appeared naxed in Flaunt Magazine. Eva Mendes said about the shoot, "I actually did a little nuxe shot. You won't see anything. I was covering myself... but I love 'Flaunt.' I think their artwork is some of the best artwork out there as far as photography is concerned, so I took it off. I felt really comfortable, it was fun. There's something really liberating about it." Eva Mendes also appeared nuxe in an ad for Calvin Klein's Secret Obsession perfume. In this ad she is seen rolling nuxe in a bed, exposing her right breaxt and nippxe.

Shakira

When she was eight, Shakira's father declared bankruptcy. While the details were sorted out, Shakira stayed with relatives in Los Angeles. On returning to Barranquilla, Shakira was shocked to find that much of what her parents owned had been sold; as she later said "In my childish head, this was the end of the world." To show her that things could be worse, Shakira's father took her to a local park to see orphans who lived there, sniffing glue. The images stayed with her and Shakira said to herself "one day I’m going to help these kids when I become a famous artist."
